About VHA
VHA
is a nationwide network of community-owned health care systems and their
physicians with more than 2,200 members.
VHA members are
"community-owned" health care organizations, which means their
assets belong to the community, and no individual shareholder or corporation
makes any profit. A local board of trustees made up of community members who
serve without pay controls their operations.
VHA provides products, programs
and services to help its members improve operational efficiency and clinical
effectiveness. Beyond specific product and service offerings, VHA works with
hospital executives, physicians, nurses and department heads in many areas
to provide them with programs and services to help them do their jobs
better.
Because VHA's core philosophy is
that community-owned health care is in the best interest of patients and
communities everywhere, VHA takes an active role in promoting the value of
community-owned health care organizations.
As a cooperative, VHA is
committed to helping its members improve through their commitment to each
other
