UNYHEALTH was formed in 1997 as a provider-owned and operated service organization to provide a single point of managed care contracting for a network of physicians and hospitals in Upstate New York. Our goal is to establish preferred provider arrangements for our member physicians and hospitals with various Payers including third-party administrators, local and national self-insured employers, and commercial insurance companies.

UNYHEALTH provides multiple benefits not only to our members but also to Upstate New York employers and the communities we serve. The UNYHEALTH network allows our participating physician and hospital members to actively seek statewide, regional, and local contracts while supporting and expanding each member’s commitment to improve the health of their communities. Payers are able to contract with our regional network of approximately 2,000 physicians, 19 health care organizations, and their ancillary facilities through a single contract vehicle which offers significant savings for their members. Upstate New York consumers will benefit by having preferred access to their network of community providers.

The UNYHEALTH network is designed to serve third-party administrators, commercial insurers and self-insured organizations. Because of its regional capabilities, the UNYHEALTH Network is of particular interest to employers doing business at multiple sites within the State. By contracting with a single network of hospitals, these employers can be assured that their employees will receive consistent quality and cost-effective care. Consumers who access our network can be assured of consistent, quality, and cost effectiveness across our network.
